Window film in Honolulu

Window film for Honolulu homes, condos and offices — from the Kakaako towers to the valleys above downtown.

Most of our Honolulu work is high-rise glass. Condominium towers in Kakaako, Ala Moana and along Kapiolani put floor-to-ceiling windows on west and south-west elevations, and from about 2pm the living room becomes unusable without the blinds down — which defeats the point of paying for the view. A spectrally selective film rejects the infrared that carries the heat while leaving the glass looking clear.

Before we quote a condo we check the AOAO rules. Most Honolulu buildings specify a maximum exterior reflectance and sometimes a required film shade, so that the tower reads as one surface from the street. We install to whatever the house rules say and give you the film's specification sheet for the board.

On single-family houses in Manoa, Makiki and Nuuanu the problem is usually the opposite — deep valley shade most of the day, then hard direct sun through one or two elevations. There it is worth filming selectively rather than the whole house.
